Where We Work
The Private Sector operates programs in California, in the San Francisco East Bay Area, and in Hawaii on the North Shore of Oahu.
Our California Program operates in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, and serves the most vulnerable people in those countries. We identify the neighborhoods where the lowest income families reside, and we fill those neighborhoods with free nutritious food and clothing.
Our Hawaii program serves the residents of the North Shore of Oahu, HI. It provides free abundant food boxes upon request, through the Purple Van Project. Generations of our Hawaiian neighbors have benefitted from the Purple Van Project. The Purple Van is a food safety net when times are tough.
In addition to providing free nutritious food and clothing, the Private Sector makes available Sanctuary housing for people who need a break to plan their next steps in life. Sanctuary housing is available, as space allows, in both Hawaii and California.
